The African Sim

A happy Simbr celebrating, collecting and reblogging African themed custom content (tagged as africacc) - I also make custom content (tagged mycc). I blog non Sims stuff sometimes (tagged nonsims) especially if it celebrates or supports African heritage and history.

Peace be upon you, enjoy the site and feel free to message me!

TheAfricanSim - Conversion of ModishKitten’s African Headwrap

(with much help from @indiaskapie). In 30 African patterns (including Ankara, Mudcloth, Shweshwe and Kente patterns you will have seen in previous projects) and 26 solid colours specifically referenced from African textile samples (that happen to look gorgeous on black and brown skin).

Info and download links under the cut.

It clips with some hairstyles, and looks best with short hair. If you like, please do me a teeny favor and send me an ask or personal message with 3 digits - your favourite pattern (e.g. P03) or your favourite colour (C16) so I can keep on record what patterns and colours are the most popular to use them more often (you can choose several if you like).

I dedicate this little retexture to @fuyaya who is an amazing cc creator, a wonderful person and also is so helpful and kind to new custom content creators (follow her if you don’t already!).

- basegame compatible
- mesh included
- Random disabled
- Found under hat (brimless)
- Custom thumbnails
- Available for all genders, though it is under feminine style
- Teen to Elder, everyday, party, formal, event, retail
- All LODS

TOU: Please do not claim as yours or re-upload (especially to paysites), please give credit where credit is due and link here if you want to recolour it (please don’t include the mesh), especially since updates or fixes may be necessary at some point. Also, please be respectful of African people and culture and use this headwrap accordingly. You may tag me (theafricansim) if you wish, I would love to see and reblog what you create.

Credits:
EA and @00indiemilk for original mesh (here), @indiaskapie for converting it for me, African textile artists, Sims4Studio, Photoshop, Blender and my wonderful and talented friend @voidfeather for moral support, Blender guidance and game testing.

CC used in pics:
Skin, some skin details and makeup by @xmiramira, other make up and skin details by @pralinesims, earrings by @xelennsimblr and @tamo-sim, eyes by @alfsi and @s4models , facial hair by @lumialoversims, eyebags by @tamo-sim, ladies’ clothes by me here, gentleman’s top by @shespeakssimlish, nails by NataliS.

Please let me know if you have any issues! It is my first item release where I converted it to be basegame compatible and edited the UV texture, so some things may need fixing / tweaking.
